A Life Celebrated: Ann Rita was born in Riverside California on February 9, 1952 to William T. (Sr) and Maxine (Mickey) and her two brothers William T. (Jr) and Robert M. Corridan. She graduated from Riverside Poly High School in 1970 and begins her working career with the US Forest Service in San Bernardino, California. In 1972 she began working for the City of Riverside in their Utilities Department before transferring to the Mayor’s Office where she stayed for the next 22 years. Ann married her high school sweetheart, James H. Gore in 1972 and had one son, Jason Ryan in 1979. Ann retired in 2002 to spend more time with her mother and her granddaughters, Ashley and Hailey.

Treasured Memory: On our first date I took Ann to dinner and to meet my parents, then off to the drive in movies with her brother Bob and her future sister-in-law Gayle. During the movie I told her that one day I would end up marrying her and spending the rest of my life with her. During the intermission between shows she and Gayle went to the snack bar and when they returned she approached her brother about getting a ride home with them as I was crazy. He told her “you came with him you go with him.” I called her every day after that and for “our” one week Anniversary I gave her the first of many diamonds. I knew in my heart the first time I met Ann Rita Corridan that she was the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with and that I would do everything possible to make sure that happened. We were blessed to have had 44 years together and to have been married for 41 years.

Remember Always: Ann’s caring personality, the way she looked for the good in everything and everyone always amazed me. She had the gift of listening to others and being there for her friends and family. Ann volunteered and served on various committees during her working career and even after she retired, she liked to give back to Riverside.

Acknowledgements To Jason, Jessica, Ashley, and Hailey, the joy each of you brought to our world is beyond description. Jason will always be her “Bambino”, Jessica will always be the daughter-in-law that parents dream for sons to marry and Ashley & Hailey complete that dream! I would be remiss in not mentioned the professional people that touched our lives during our journey this past year. Dr. Jeffery Simons, who took a special liking to Ann and went so far as to ask to be her hospice doctor, his care and concern to Ann helped in ways that are hard to explain. He helped marked this journey easier to understand and accept by always being open and honest about her condition. To Patty, who we meet and instantly took a liking to, the way she explained what hospice was and what Companion Hospice could and would do for us when we were ready to sign up. Her “no pressure” approach had a calming effect on Ann, Jason and myself. We understood from the first time we met Patty that eventually we would need their services and she would be the person we would ultimately call for help. To Erma, how she helped Ann with personal issues like stopping past to help relieve Ann’s neck and shoulder pains with a gentle massage or helping Ann with other issues. And not to be forgotten, it was Debbie who visited Ann every week and took care of all of her medicines and treatment issues. Debbie became a friend that both Ann and I looked forward to seeing each week. The compassion that each and everyone showed to both Ann and I was amazing. We know in our hearts that there will be a special place in heaven for each of these people.
